This is a 2-channel instrument running TOPSPIN 3 equipped with:

-16-position SampleExpress Lite robotic sample changer (not seen in photo below)

-5mm z-gradient broadband1H/19F-X multinuclear (BBFO) probe (default probe).

-5mm z-gradient triple resonance inverse 1H/19F(13C) TXI probe.

-1mm z-gradient inverse 1H{13C, 15N} triple resonance TXI microprobe.

The BBFO probe allows us to collect both 1H-19F and 1H-X experiments and is used by default.

The 1mm microprobe is ideal for handling samples in the microgram (or even sub-microgram) range, most notably those from biosynthetic sources (although cryoprobes have largely replaced the need for this).

This instrument is used by the NMR service staff and by trained research chemists and operates in "hands-on" mode.

This instrument is nicknamed the AVB500 although the formal model name is an AVII 500 and should be listed as such in any publication.
